Recent college graduate Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) is rife with angst about his future. When he returns home for his graduation party, he finds himself seduced by the sultry Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft) and spends the summer drifting in his family’s pool by day and juggling a love triangle between Mrs. Robinson and her daughter by night. An immediate cultural sensation upon its release in 1967, The Graduate transformed the American film industry, introduced wider audiences to the music of Simon & Garfunkel, and earned director Mike Nichols an Academy Award.
Screening will be followed by a moderated conversation with Rob Petrone, Associate Professor in Education and Megan Gilligan, Associate Professor in Human Development and Family Sciences.
