At The District, we are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We strive to meet the standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA to provide a positive experience for all visitors.

Conformance Status

Our last accessibility audit took place on June 18 2026. At that time, the website does not yet conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines, but we are actively working on making improvements..

Known Limitations

  • Not all images have ALT text.

  • Text colors do not meat standard color contrast ratios.

  • Headlines are not in semantic order.

  • For both blog posts and events, the previous/next links should be in a labelled “nav” with the “rel” attribute of prev and next on the links.

  • For events, some elements are mistakenly skipped with a screen reader.

  • Videos need audio descriptions and/or transcripts.

  • Load more events should leave the focus before the newly added items and notify when complete.

  • The event modal popup does not trap focus.

Third-Party Content

Our website includes content from third-party providers that may not be fully under our control. The following may present accessibility challenges:

  • Embedded videos from YouTube

  • Google Maps

  • PDFs used as additional resources

  • Event calendar
