The Columbia Daily Tribune has been Boone County's daily newspaper since 1901. The Tribune is independently owned and has been operated by the Waters/Watson family since 1905. It employs more than 300 people and has more than 300 contract delivery agents. Henry J. Waters III is the editor and publisher.
The Tribune publishes seven days a week (except New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas). On weekdays, the Tribune publishes in the afternoons. The Tribune publishes in the mornings on Saturday and Sunday. The Tribune also prints the New York Times right here in Columbia!

The Tribune qualifies for membership in the Audit of Bureau of Circulations, an independent, nationally accepted auditing service established by advertisers. ABC auditors annually examine the Tribune's records to verify the accuracy of its paid circulation. The Tribune offers the largest paid circulation audience in Mid-Missouri. Average audited circulation, weekdays, is 19,106; average audited circulation on Sunday is 24,065.
