Bluestem Missouri Crafts, Niche magazine's 2005 Top Retailer of American Crafts, is located in the heart of historic downtown Columbia. It has been a vital part of the community for over 23 years. Bluestem's three-room gallery features the work of over 250 traditional and contemporary artists and craftspeople from Missouri and contiguous states. The collection includes work in clay, glass, wood, metal and fiber. From hardwood bowls and utensils, ironwork, and weaving produced in small communities to cutting edge blown glass, jewelry and pottery from nationally recognized artists, the standard for regional craft excellence is set by Bluestem.
